I'm Mike Dempsey-alone with Football Guys own Bob Harris. We put week seven to bed, mostly on to

week eight, but there's still some lingering issues coming from week seven. Part of the Monday night

doubleheader. we saw some injuries

that are going to impact us including Nico Collins picking up a concussion Bob this is one

will obviously have to monitor this week too soon to see if he'll be available against the

San Francisco 49ers yeah but we've got a short turnaround we've got a very late Monday night game

to an early Sunday kickoff.

It's going to be a challenge for Collins to work his way through the protocol to be cleared to play in this one. Remember, they were already without Christian Kirk had the hamstring injury Monday night. So if Collins and Kirk can't go, Houston will have to rely on Xavier Hutchinson and the rookie duo of Jaden Higgins and Jalen O'L to fill the void. And Dalton Shultz would likely continue to get a ton of targets.

Yeah, he would.

He was great this week for sure. Brock Purdy, uncertain to play in that game for the 49ers, still dealing with the toe issue, Bob. And you got a pretty effective pass rush up front for the Houston Texans. Not sure if this is one of those games you want to test that toe out early. Yeah, you see a lot of discussion about this in the local media with that Houston pass rush starting Purdy. If he's anything less than full speed, might be borderline. Irresponsible would be the take. And with Mack Jones playing well, I mean, waiting for Purdy to fully recover makes sense. Five starts for the injured Purdy. Jones has been more than steady.

It's completed 67% of his passes for 1,4004 yards. Six touchdowns, just four interceptions.

That's important for us. More important to the Niners, he's four and one in those games.

I think they'll just keep it rolling until they don't have to. All right. Also coming out of the

Monday night doubleheader, Mike Evans with the broken clavicle, is expected to miss most of the remainder of the regular season. Although not completely ruled out, Todd Bull said we'll see what happens. But Bob, if you don't have an IR spot, are you just going to drop Mike Evans at this point? Yeah, I am. It's been a great run. He ends up tied with Jerry Rice for the 11th straight

thousand yard season. He'll be the only player with that distinction in his first 11 seasons. Rice's streak started in year two. But even if he's healed in December, will there be a rush to get him back on the field or heavy need? I'm guessing the Buccaneers are more interested in the post than the regular season when it comes for his return if he's able to at all.

Yeah, I'm not going to have Bucca did get to play. He got a team high 12 targets. I don't know. I haven't watched him in person all that much this year, but, you know, four catches for 58 yards. Do you think he was fully healthy? Yeah, given the 12 targets and just, you know, 58 yards total. I suspect he was not at full speed. Also, pro football focus, as Nathan Yankee pointed out, Ibuka started the season as the Z receiver, moved to X following Evans' injury. He was back to Z to start this game, then moved back to X when Evans was hurt. So maybe all the shuffling around was an issue. Evans injury makes the receiver rotation more straightforward going

forward. A buckel will likely be the X for the rest of the year or until Evans comes back. Maybe that

helps him focus a little better. Yeah, and it wasn't a great night for Baker Mayfield. Sack four times
