Connor Boudard is not part of Team Canada going to Milan for the 2026 Olympic Games.

I know it's been a couple days, but this is our first chance to really break it down with any sort of depth or nuance to it.

I feel like I would have felt a little bit better about things, but I'm still just kind of annoyed about the whole thing.

Yeah, I think it's obviously a disappointment for first off badard but secondly a disappointment for

black hawks fans because of the way that he started the season and that was kind of the talking

points around him at the beginning of the year when it was like oh you know olympics are coming up

and tough decisions for team Canada and would badard be on the radar and it kind of came down to like he has to knock it out of the park to start the season to even be on the radar.

And he absolutely did that.

Top five, top three in scoring up until his injury.

And, you know, the way he was playing changed and evolved.

And he was right there in those conversations.

And right up until the injury

in all the conversations about it it was every you know analyst and pundant and everything was just

like he's played his way onto the team so for it to get to this point now they make the

decision and he's not part of the team.

It's a letdown.

And I think, too, you know, kind of the injury gave Canada an easy answer of like, okay, no, he's not going to be there.

Even with the potential for him to come back and play before the Olympic break happens,

I think it gave them the easy out to be like, nope, we're going to leave him off.

Well, and I know Doug Armstrong said that didn't play a role in the decision and that they had

made the decision a while ago.
