on the Warriors at the precipice of yet another finals appearance there first in three years.

Almost 14 months ago, just 14 months ago, what remained of the Warriors dynasty lost to

the Raptors.

In Tampa, Florida, remember the Raptors relocated to Tampa?

That was a thing.

The Warriors lost that game by 53 points.

At that time, it had been about two years, almost two years since Kevin Durant tore his

Achilles in game five of the finals in 2019 in Toronto.

And anyone who's that game can close their eyes and see clear as day, the site of Durant

crumpling to the ground on the right side line.

In a very bad way, it took your breath away, hit you right in the gut.

You knew something had changed forever that things would not be the same in the NBA

ever again.

Three days later, Clay Thompson went down to his ACL and he was in the middle, by the

way, of an all time heater that looked like it might force a super pressurized game seven

in Toronto.

Only this time, it would be the Warriors trying to rally from a three one deficit in the

finals instead of blowing a three one lead.

Everybody by that knew it was very likely Durant was going to leave goal in state in the

offseason.
