Littlefield made his name at NBC, to which he was recruited in 1979 by the legendary Brandon Tartikoff and at which he rose from the

executive VP of entertainment, and eventually to President of Entertainment, the job at the top of the rock, which also happens to be the name of his excellent 2012 memoir.

During his early years at the Peacock Network, Littlefield helped to develop shows like Cheers, The Golden Girls, and the Cosby show, which established NBC as The Place for Smart Comedy.
