Warren Baty is one of the most legendary figures in cinema as an actor producer, writer

and director.

He's been involved in classics like Bonnie and Clyde, the powerlikes view, shampoo,

dick tracy, mccabe and Mrs Miller, and many, many more over a career in spanning

nearly six decades.

After a Kubrickian hiatus of 18 years, during which he had several kids with his wife and

that Benning, he's back with rules to apply.

Part Hollywood love letter, part tale of sexual politics, and part story about the later

years of Howard Hughes, the infamous billionaire, who in BD plays.

I spoke to BD this week in a top London hotel, as he's saying in things like this.

What followed was a free wheeling and fun conversation with an absolute legend.

Oh, and Warren Baty was there too.

Now before we begin, some notes, BD is a man who weighs his words very carefully, as

you'll see when I ask him about politics.

But he was also relaxed and conversational about his brilliant career so much so that he

doubled the length of the interview and even found time to eat cake halfway through.

So apologies if you hear some munching.
