The alarmingly high levels have been found in many big brands.

They were looking at internal testing policies and results from individual ingredients and

finished products for these food companies.

And they write four of the companies.

Nurture, Beechnut, Hayne and Gerber responded to the subcommittees requests.

Walmart, Campbell and Sprout Organic Foods refused to cooperate with the subcommittees' investigation.

It goes on to say, according to internal company documents and test results obtained by

the subcommittee, commercial baby foods are tainted with significant levels of toxic, heavy

metals, including arsenic, lead, cadmium and mercury.

Now currently there's no federal standard for these.

The FDA relies on industry to regulate itself.

It's the story we hear over and over and it constantly fails.
