Well, it's a new year, a new season, a new football team, and we're still not inside Doe Campbell Stadium for the postgame wrap. We don't know what the score was because the offense scored, the defense wasn't allowed to

score. Even when they blocked a field goal, returned it for a touchdown. It didn't count.

They blew it dead. The format for this spring game was not probably high on our list of

this this spring about the improved passing game jordan travis these wide receivers who've

transferred in micah pitman was probably the only one of those guys that actually showed much today. He had a nice day. Trey Benson, the running

back transfer had a nice day. But overall, not probably the most explosive offense performance

you were looking for. No, and I thought Benson was probably the star of the offense. Yeah,

seven carries for 77 yards. I think he had five first down runs, like three or four around 18 yards. So that was good to see. And he showed some, the play he made avoiding a tackler in the backfield. We know he can run fast straight ahead, and we know he's got power because of his size. But that agility to make a dude miss, McClellan, I think, was in there, came free and he

made a miss in the backfield. Okay, well, that's the next level thing. That's like some, there's a lot of, not maybe a lot of guys that run fast and are big, but run fast, big, and have some agility to you. Well, now you might be doing something. Now you might be, you might have something. So that was good to see. But yeah, overall, we promise you. We're not lying. The passing game has been better. Tate Rottamaker has been better in the practices.

Johnny Wilson, these receivers have made plays. They just didn't really today, except like you said, Pittman. I think some of that was the wind. It really was windy and gusty, like 35, 40- an hour winds, apparently. So that can cause the,

I mean, you guys understand wind and how it works and how something can move one way or the other. I'm not going to get the physics of it. So, but yeah, so they didn't adjust maybe well to that. But yeah, I was disappointed in the passing game, the third down conversions. But yeah, just Travis and Roddemaker, I just, it have a rhythm to it. And it looked a lot like it's looked. And we wanted to start looking better in front of a bunch of eyes and not just ours. But part of the problem also is, and you mentioned it in your observations, you know, the quick whistles. We've seen it all spring. They have been adamant. The coaching staff is dropping the attack classes? Yeah, I can't see. I can't see Aslon. They've been, the coaches have been adamant about not letting Jordan Travis just make plays with his legs. Right. The reason, and the way they're doing that is by making him stay in the pocket. And if a defender is anywhere within, I don't know, seven, eight square miles of him, they blow the whistle and call the play dead.

Yeah. And that kills drives. I mean, if it's second down and Jordan Travis completes a pass, but they call him down by a sack, now it's third and 14. That drives pretty much a wrap. And we saw a lot of that. I thought it took away a touchdown from Tate Rod to make earlier in the game. Yeah, Sean Hilton. Yeah. The one nice thing for Tate was he did come back and throw a nice touchdown in that, like the, I don't even know what you call it.
