All right. Well, we're starting off. This is the inaugural episode. Don't know what we're going to call it yet.

As I went with the hot corner with Chris and Corey. We'll see how that goes. It's the Warchamp baseball podcast, though. And you might know me. I'm Corey Clark. This is Chris Chavez, who was a, if you don't know, you should. That's crazy.

He was an All-American pitcher, late 90s for Florida State.

It now does. Chris, I wanted to start with this real quick. You do the broadcast with ARIA for the home games, right?

Most of them, I would say, is it 100%, 90% of them?

Probably 90%. Yeah.

You guys have no business being as good as you are. And I say that because I watch all these other broadcast when Florida State goes on the road.

I just watch college baseball in general.

Now, Ari is a knoll.

You're a knoll.

But y'all aren't homers.

Like, y'all actually care about the other team that's playing.

You know other things about the other team. You'all actually care about the other team that's playing you know other

things about the other team you don't get depressed when the other team scores like legitimately kudos for

the way you guys handle that because it is a pro broadcast and a lot of times these ESPN 3 or whatever

we call them broadcast for college baseball they don't seem professional at all so kudos man you'll do a good job with that. I really appreciate it. You know, I got to give everything to Aria and Kirby Canner, you know, with the direction they've kind of put me through in the three years as I've been doing it. And, you know, they just help keep getting me better. But, I mean, I can't say enough about Aria and Kirby and what they do.

Yeah, it's really well done sincerely. So let's get on to what we're here for, which is the FSU baseball team, the FSU baseball season. Huge weekend this weekend. I would argue,

I have already. It's the best opening conference series of Florida State baseball team

has ever had. I don't know how you could have one better, back-to-back shutouts and then a blowout

against the top 12 team at the time. But before we get into the series, let's just take a,

well, no, let's do the series first. You could tell I'm used, I'm new to all this, Chris. I don't know where I'm going. No problem, no problem. What? As a pitcher, as an all-American pitcher, as an all-American pitcher, who, by the way, made a really significant jump from your junior year to your senior year, as far as just, I mean, you became an All-American. You were unbelievable your senior year. What have you seen from Mendez that has turned him into what we've seen through the first, I don't know what it's been, five starts of the season? He was fine last year. He was good enough. He was good-ish. But his ERA was over five. He didn't have maybe the best command or was close to five. What have you seen from him to start this season that's different?

I think more than anything, confidence. I think the belief that he has in himself and what he can do, he's just taken off and run with it.
