Summary

The war with Iran has begun — but what kind of war is it? Is this a war of necessity to stop an immediate threat? A war of choice? Or something else entirely? As strikes intensify and Iran retaliates, families in Jerusalem are running to bomb shelters. American forces are engaged. Congress is divided. And the biggest question may not be why the war started — but whether the United States has the resolve to finish it. Medved breaks down the difference between a war of necessity and a war of choice — and argues that the real issue now is victory vs. failure. Can the Iranian regime be forced to abandon its nuclear ambitions? Will Congress support the mission — or undermine it?And what happens if America doesn’t win? Learn more about your ad choices. over this weekend. It has been a profoundly shocking kind of war with the death of the supreme

strike back. I spoke to my brother, who's lived in Jerusalem for 40 years, and he has all of a

sudden his sons and his son-in-law have been called back to service.

1:33.9

And they're going to be directly implicated in the fighting that goes on.

1:39.6

And the one thing that my brother told me about, and I can't stop thinking about it, is he's been in a situation where just since the fighting began, he's been called down to the bomb shelter they have as part of their home, called down to the bomb shelter

ten different times. And people who live in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and in Israel are very

strongly supportive of this war, but they are also suffering from some of the impacts of the pushback that is inevitable

from this evil Iranian regime. Now, when people talk about classifying this war as a war of

necessity or a war of choice, what are they talking about? That was a title of a or a war of choice.

2:34.3

What are they talking about?

That was a title of a book by Richard Haas,
