Hello, before we get started with today's War Room mock draft with Todd McShay,

I wanted to tape a quick reaction to the blockbuster trade that the Cincinnati Bengals did with the New York Giants,

which affects the draft you're about to listen to, obviously, but also all of draft week.

The Cincinnati Bagels gave up pick 10 straight up for Dexter Lawrence. Lawrence had been, you know, agitating for a trade, first an extension, then a trade, when he didn't get the extension for a while now. And at first it seemed like, no way New York's going to do it. And then it seemed like, well, maybe they're going to do it. And then, you know, I started speculating like a lot of folks about which teams might be in the running. I remember on NFL Live last week, I threw out the Chargers with Pick 22, thinking that would be a nice return. Didn't think Pick 10 was going to be on the table. So just to look at this first from New York standpoint, that's an awesome return

for Dexter Lawrence, you know, 28 years old, one of the best defensive tackles in football.

He's coming off of a down year. I still think he's a really good player. I'll talk about that when

we get to the Bengals piece of this. But obviously, the fact that they didn't want to give him

the extensions suggested they felt perhaps age 28, they didn't want to give him the extensions suggested they felt perhaps age 28.

They didn't want to pay for past production.

There's a couple of years left on his existing deal.

Last year, the run defense was abysmal even with him.

Wasn't entirely his fault.

But, yeah, so, you know, I have to say it's hard for me to be critical of New York getting pick 10 back.

And now they've got pick 5, picks 5 and 10.

Fascinating combination of picks, which now that you have pick 10,

it might affect how they approach the entire draft.
