The measure is blocked. I'm Lisa Lacerra. Fox News. By a vote of 53 to 47, the Senate has voted down a resolution that would have limited the military action in Iran.

Last thing the American people want or need is another war in the Middle East.

Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, who called the action madness after two decades of fighting in the Middle East, Senate Majority Leader John Thune.

Clearly there are Democrats, I believe, who understand that what we're doing in Iran right now makes all the sense in the world from a national security standpoint.

There will be a House vote on war powers tomorrow.

President Trump again defending the decision to launch strikes on Iran.

If we didn't hit within two weeks, they would have had a nuclear weapon.

If we didn't do the B2 attack a number of months ago, they would have a nuclear weapon.

And when crazy people have nuclear weapons, bad things happen.

And the president said so far the mission has been successful and that Iran has been a threat to Americans for 47 years.

Meanwhile, thousands of Iraqi Kurds have launched a ground offensive in Iran.

President Trump spoke by phone with Kurdish leaders in Iraq on Sunday to discuss the war and how the U.S. and Kurds could work together.

The Kurds have thousands of soldiers along the Iran-Iraq border that could work with regime

opposition groups in Iran to overthrow the Islamic Republic's regime.

Fox is Brian Yannis in London. Earlier today, U.S. submarine sank in Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean. Secretary of War Pete Hegset says the U.S. is gaining air superiority over Iran, but the U.S. can't stop all air attacks, saying some drones or missiles may still get through air defenses and strike military or civilian targets.

A federal judge in New York has ruled the companies that paid tariffs struck down last month by the Supreme Court are entitled to refunds.
