In the past few days, Russian callousness and casual racism has led to conflicts with Azerbaijan on an unprecedented scale. Traditionally viewed as one of Kremlin's closest allies, Baku is now fed up with how it's imperialist neighbour is treating Azeri nationals and Aliyev is striking back. A lot of what's happening is amoral, dirty and outright petty - but it hits Kremlin straight into national pride.
