We have seen lots of activity over the past seven days with respect to Russia and Ukraine in the United States,

a summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska on August 17th,

a subsequent Oval Office meeting with Voldemier Zolensky and an impressive group of European leaders just a few days later.

Lots of talk, lots of news coverage,

lots of activity. What's really changed? As near as I can tell, almost nothing. And at this point,

we should be grateful for that. You know, if you go back and you look at the moment when Trump is sort of standing there clapping as Putin comes towards him on the red carpet,

you really had no idea what was going to come next.
