Well, Giday, Passion 2025. It is a joy to be with you this morning. Many of you don't know me.

My name is John Tyson. I grew up in Australia, but 20 years ago moved to New York City to plant a church called Church of the City.

And it is a joy to be here today.

When I moved to America, I had never heard of passion.

I was a college student in Dallas, and I went to a college ministry

where Louis Giglio was talking about a one-day gathering of students in a field in Memphis or somewhere.

And I didn't know where Memphis was or what was happening.

And I'll never forget this line.

He said, skip your graduation ceremony ceremony come and get on your face

before the living God and at the end of that night the whole room was on its face crying out to God

so to hear that and see that and to be here now is absolutely remarkable so I just want to say

thank you,

Louis and Shelley, for stewarding a vision from God and being faithful to it for decades.

You really have become spiritual parents for generations of college kids. So I honor you.

And it is a joy to be here. Let's pray before we

dive into God's word together and ask the Holy Spirit to help us and to open our hearts.

Father, we come into your presence now with great joy. Thank you for your love for us.

Thank you for the gift of Jesus and his death on the cross.

Thank you for the Holy Spirit that takes away the spirit of fear and shame

and gives us the spirit of adoption to cry, Abba.

And as we gather around your word to encounter your truth and your heart, I pray that you would pour your spirit out this morning in Jesus' name. Amen.
