Welcome to The Buck Notes Morning Five here on Friday, September 20th, 2019. I am Dave Biddle,

very happy joined by Jonah Booker for his usual Friday visit. J. Book, let's start up with some

mildly bad news for the buck guys, Tyreeks Smith, as Ryan Day confirmed yesterday, has a quote new injury.

We know he had the off-season surgery on his groin.

This, you know, looked like he banged up his shoulder. his The good defense event in the country and Chase Young and pretty good depth there.

But they're down a couple other guys, you know, Jonathan Cooper, we'll see what's going on with him.

Tyler Friday has been in and out.

But Tyreeks Smith is probably going to be out this week,

probably longer than that.

We'll find out later today when the status report comes out.

Just your thoughts on the Tyreeks Smith situation,

Jaybook. Yeah, you really hate to hear that. He's a guy that has flashed

when he's been out there on the field. I know that he had an injury earlier to

set him back. He had surgery in the off season and then he missed that first game.

So with this new injury popping up, you're hoping and fingers cross that is not too serious that he's able to get the time that he needs to recover and give back especially once we start to hit the meet of the big 10 schedule because they're going to need him.

Obviously teams are going to start keying in on Chase Young.

I think Tyree Smith also provides that element from the past rushing defensive ends that you want to see who's going to be able to get

after the quarterback.

So hopefully the best, we're hoping for the best that the injury is not too severe and he can

get back on the field as quickly as possible.
