Summary

There’s a common misconception that, in order to achieve big things, you need to “stay hungry.” But is that really the truth? Is the key to living an ambitious life never being satisfied with what you have? I challenge that belief in today’s episode of LOVE Life, and reveal what I think is the one (counter-intuitive) attitude that actually fuels ambition and leads to real achievement. It certainly has proven true in my life, and I’ll explain how it will work in yours. Hint: It allows you to be happy NOW, rather than waiting for the moment when you reach that big goal.

Matthew Arzi here with Love Life. I am super excited about today's show because we have

0:07.0

a great topic to discuss. But first I have a question for you. If I told you there were

0:12.9

five things you could say to get a man positively addicted to you, would you try them? If the

0:19.2

answer is yes, then be sure to listen until the end of today's show because I'm going

0:24.2

to tell you how you can get your hands on those five magic phrases. Now let's get to

0:29.6

the episode. One of the things that I think becomes very difficult in the world we live

0:37.8

in, where we get all this different advice about going after what we want, be ambitious,

0:42.7

keep striving for more. And at the same time we're told, be grateful, be happy with what

0:47.5

you have, appreciate what you have. Gratitude is so important. These are two, or what

0:53.8

seem like two very opposing forces. The idea of, think about it for a moment, the idea

0:59.4

of wanting more and the idea of being happy with what you have. How do you reconcile the

1:04.9

two? I actually for a long time struggled with the idea of reconciling the two because

1:08.8

personally I always thought my hunger came from the fact that I was never quite satisfied.

1:14.1

Never quite satisfied with where I am. I'm always driving for more. What's the next level?

1:18.0

How do I get there? Never being satisfied. Now, although that worked for me, it wasn't

1:24.0

a fun state of play because never being satisfied, it meant I would achieve and achieve. On

1:30.0

the outside it would all look great, but on the inside everything sucked all the time

1:35.1

because I was never happy. It was never enough. Nothing I ever did was good enough. I never

1:40.8

got happy with anything I did. I was always saying, someone would say, that's great. And

1:44.2

I'd say, yeah, but I still haven't done this. So I would be in a constant state of dissatisfaction.

1:50.0

Now that's fine. You could do that for a while, but who wants to do it for their whole

1:53.0

life? No one. So it gets to a point where you say, well, I need to be happy where I am
