Walmart reported earnings this week

and we've got a breakdown for you with a Han Vashi.

It's my pleasure.

So we're going to jump right into Walmart earnings.

Tell me this.

Are earnings and revenue where you would expect them to be?

I think inflation is a big booster for Walmart's revenues and and you see that we are expecting now

explaining growth of 6.5% for this year on sales. On the earnings side I think inflation has put a lot of pressure on margins, as you may have known, and I think that is causing Walmart's earnings to be lower than what we expected going into this year, but the trends are now looking positive, especially with the quarter that they just had, where you know, earnings are now recovering and that's a good sign.

So we know inflation is still not in a at an acceptable level for the Fed.

And of course one reason is food prices. What effect if any did groceries have on earnings? Yes, so I think you are absolutely right about inflation not being

whether fed wants it and food prices in the latest CPI report were up 10.9%

year over year.
