So how did an apprentice toolmaker from Glasgow become one of the most iconic figures in sporting history?

His strength of character, his determination, the fight on him.

He can be persuasive, he can be charming, he can be frightening.

Hello, a very warm welcome to a very sunny and picturesque niece.

Rugby keeps on bringing us back to Nice,

bringing myself, Gareth Griffiths, Alex Bywater,

back to this charming city, which is straight in some ways

because it's not a city that's got a particularly rich rugby history when

you compare it to the likes of Toulouse or other southern French cities but we're

not complaining are we Alex? No the weather's been good definitely a contrast

to back home in Cardiff so it's been nice to go to press conferences in shorts

and t-shirt so yeah absolutely can't complain

i did notice we were at the team hotel earlier everyone was dining outside alfresco dining but all

the locals were dressed for winter Alex dressed for Barbados look like look like a right

tourists didn't they yeah everyone's got the coats on and yeah his son turned up and he's got his sunglasses and shorts on.

We were a little bit more used, more like the locals, got coats and jackets and trousers on.
