0:46.0	Waking up, it's one of the most natural things we do as human beings. That act of peeling our eyes open to the world around us, it's so commonplace that it seems unexceptional. But that

1:02.4	When you're entering a relatively routine schedule of events with work or school,
1:06.7	waking up can really feel like an imposition.
1:08.9	Believe me, I get it.
1:10.5	But when the day before you
1:11.6	is marked by something unusual, something anticipated, well, then waking up is more like an adventure.
1:19.3	Many children across the West can attest to this very fact based on the experience yesterday morning.
1:26.4	For a child to wake up on Christmas morning is to
1:29.6	be caught in a current of events that completely sweeps you away. Your job isn't to initiate
1:36.2	anything, but to participate in everything. You're waking up to a gift that you receive and respond to it's fitting that a common metaphor for the
1:49.2	spiritual life is one of awakening it's an imagery commonly called upon by various religious traditions
1:55.8	around the world to wake up is to at last see what's really there. It's to live more authentically, more deeply.
