Hi, my name is Father Mike Schmitz and this is Ascension Presents.

One of the things about Advent is that a lot of times Advent is we see it as a season

of waiting, right?

Well, actually, clarification, a couple weeks ago we made a video that said Advent is

a Hezekh definition and it is a season of devout or wholehearted and joyful preparation

for the coming of Jesus into the world.

And yet at the same time, a lot of us see it as a season of waiting because I guess it

kind of is, I mean, we start it and then we have to wait until Christmas comes and we

are waiting for the return of Jesus Christ.

So I mean, kind of life is in many ways a season of waiting.

And at the same time, I think we sometimes get what waiting looks like wrong.

Because at least maybe I do.

Because I think sometimes waiting is just like, okay, just sit there and just kind of,

you just are passive.

That you're just kind of waiting for something to happen.

And so there's not that you can do in the meantime.

All you can do in the meantime is sit there.

All you can do in the meantime is be passive.

Just wait.

I mean, isn't that what you, the kind of the sense you got when you were a kid growing

up and at some point you really wanted something and your parents were like, just wait, just

be patient, just wait.
