Hey, good morning. It's Patricia Murphy. It's Thursday. This is Seattle now. The Trump administration

made good on a promise to increase deportations across the U.S. So what does it mean that Washington is a sanctuary state and Seattle, a sanctuary city?

Sean Barnes starts on the job today. Barnes is the outgoing chief in Madison, Wisconsin,

a role he's held since 2021. Barnes takes over from Sue Rarr, who's held the interim role since last spring,

when former chief Adrian Diaz was demoted from the job.

Barnes will still need to be confirmed by the city council.

State lawmakers will hear public testimony this afternoon on a proposed change to Washington's DUI laws.

It would lower the blood alcohol threshold from 0.08 to 0.05.

Supporters of the change say lowering the limit will save lives, but there's been some pushback

from the hospitality industry. The hearing gets going at 4 o'clock. We'll drop a link in the show
