It's a treat for me to have you in studio here for the next couple of days before you have some double duty here with some college baseball assignments. We've been thrilled, looking forward to this conversation all day. The Masters is underway. And who better to discuss it than Steve Melnick, a guy who won the U.S. Amateur, won the British Amateur, has played this

tournament five times, had a T-12 finish back in the early 70s, and Steve's kind of enough to join us here in the progressive guest line. It really is golfing royalty to have you on the program today, Steve, and what an honor for us on the first day of it. We've been trying to explain as we watch Jack Nicholas and Tom Watson, a Geary player hit that ceremonial t-ball.

Why this means so much, not to those gentlemen, but to somebody

like you that's that great experience, you've been there for decades, you still go back as an honorary

invitee. What is this day like, Steve, for people like yourself?

Well, the fact that we're able to be a part of what is the greatest golf event on the face

of the earth, what I love so much about, Augusta, is they adhere to the great traditions of the

game, and they do so unapologetically.

And we know what to expect when we come here.

You know, no phones on the grounds.

People actually talk to one another out there in among the galleries.

And those of us who are, you know, fortunate enough to be invited back, same thing.

It's all about dialogue and conversation and camaraderie, and it just doesn't get any better.

Amen to that.

And, Steve, it may not have gotten better than the master class.
