maddie i have to say uh... we have i think a topic today that's very important, but it lacks, you know, this immediacy that sometimes we've had podcasts about, right?

You know, often our podcasts have been about, oh my God, the President of the United States just did this, said this,

we just learned, you know, he may be, you know, he's under investigation for this or that.

You know, the new cycle has gotten to a point now where we can actually think about policy issues and long-term trends and bigger things that are happening more on a more macro level in our country.

And I think that because this isn't happening in every state,

for example, in Illinois, we have a fairly strong presence

with Democrats having control of the legislature and our governors of

Democrat and the mayor of Chicago. So we're not experiencing this. So I don't think that

sense of urgency is there and you know policy isn't something that people

necessarily like you said it's not

exciting it's not it doesn't grab your attention the same way and yet it is one of the

most threatening things to our democracy that's happening right now, I really think that this issue of voting and for example there's this act that Congress has been trying to pass, you know, the House introduced it in the last session. I remember when Congressman
