What's going to happen? We're going to whoop this. Welcome in to the Diamond Vols podcast. I'm Ben McKee joined by former Tennessee pitcher Will Heflin

have a ton to discuss on the podcast this Tuesday morning because on this Tuesday morning

the NCAA has announced that Tennessee

baseball will not be hosting a super regional. Instead Southern Miss will be

hosting the super regional because oh by the way since we last spoke Southern Miss

swept pin in two games and came back out of the losers bracket to win the Auburn regional

to match up with Tennessee and now on a Tuesday morning it has been announced

that Tennessee will head to Hattiesburg for not a Friday Saturday Sunday

Sunday series but a Saturday, Sunday, Monday series.

The series will begin on Saturday at 3 PM Eastern on E.S.B. and

you, Game Time and Television for Sunday and Monday have not yet been announced.

So Will, I think we both agree, in fact I know we both agree that Southern Miss is deserving of being a host and kind of everything that we're going to say has

nothing really to do with Southern Miss itself. They're a great team, great program.

They've had a really great year.

They will be able to host well.

It won't be like an Indiana State situation where people are outside intense working to help get the thing covered and

and produced so to speak. Southern Miss has hosted regionals and

super regionals in the

channels in the past and quite frankly they've looked awesome. I remember when they hosted LSU last year that that regional was really really cool. The atmosphere looked awesome on television

and then last year when old miss went down there to southern miss and beat them to go to the college world series that atmosphere looked awesome as well so it'll be an awesome atmosphere

but I don't understand how Tennessee is not hosting based off of all the metrics
