0:27.0	Welcome to the History of the World Podcast. My name is Chris. This is episode 22, Early Mesopotamia. Oh, This week we're going to concentrate our focus on Mesopotamia.
1:06.0	If you pick up an Atlas of the world you are likely not to find Mesopotamia on it. In the modern world we don't refer to the region as Mesopotamia.
1:18.0	Mesopotamia is roughly the area where you will find the modern day countries of Iraq and Syria.
1:27.0	The name Mesopotamia originates from ancient Greek. Meso means middle.
1:35.0	We also see this in the word Mesolithic,
1:39.0	to describe the part of the Stone Age
1:41.0	in the middle of the Paleolithic, which literally translates to the old
