In order to be able to reopen down the road, we had to make the hard decision to lay our entire staff off.

It was like apocalyptic.

It was the scariest day ever.

For me, this nightmare is going to be long.

Just a few of the voices of the millions of Americans who are now unemployed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

For some of them, it's been weak since their last paychecks.

This is the Daily DC.

Two relief bills have passed through Congress, gotten the president's signature.

Another is on the floor of the House of Representatives today,

giving yet another $310 billion to the Small Business Administration to get loans out the doors, again, to help people from losing their jobs or protecting their paychecks.

Despite all this government action, the situation remains pretty dire economically.

Americans everywhere are still waiting for the system to work for them.

And today, we learned yet more than 4 million

people get added to the folks who are putting in the request for jobless claims. Now more than

26 million people have put into the request for jobless claims since this began. So, joining me

now to discuss her interviews with unemployed folks across the country

and break down the latest numbers on unemployment is CNN Business and Politics correspondent
