So we've had many conversations in the past

about why people are not coming downtown anymore.

And we have both said that we believe a big portion of the

problem is the crime yes but there's also less reason for people to come downtown

when all of the amenities are available out in the donut counties as well. The shopping, the restaurants, etc.

Somebody wanted to call and give their opinion on why they think people aren't coming downtown as well.

Everybody I've talked to that used to go downtown quite often says they refuse to go anymore

because ever since they privatize all the damn parking meters, it costs more to park than it does to buy whatever the heck you're buying.

It's ridiculous what they charge to park downtown. You can't even park free after six o'clock. You got to pay some charts or some restaurant or

nightclub that has rented the curb that my taxes paid for from the city and now they can charge you to park there

three four five six dollars an hour so what's the point of going downtown when you can go park free and shop or drink somewhere else?

You know, it makes a fair point.

You used to be able to get Blitz and Park for free if you went after 9 o'clock and now it's I guess

that's not in effect anymore those days have long since passed me by but you

used to be able to strategically kind of plot that out and I guess that's not the case anymore.
