Yo, hey everyone, welcome back to the Power Hour podcast.

0:09.0

So this week, I thought I'd share a message with you all. As you may already know, I'm currently writing the Power Hour book. So I've been going really deep and exploring this concept even more. And one thing that I say at the start of the

0:22.1

show and that I talk about often is this idea that we should reclaim our time. Now, I always say when I

0:29.1

ask guests at the end of the show, you know, that I think time is the most valuable thing that we all

0:33.6

have. And it's the one thing that you can never get back, you can never get more of,

0:37.7

and I believe it's the most valuable thing that you can give to another person.

0:42.0

But I also think that for many of us, this idea of reclaiming our time and doing something

0:48.1

for ourselves, for example, starting the day with a morning power hour, one hour dedicated

0:53.4

to yourself, to creating a life

0:55.8

that you love, to focusing on your goals, improving your health. It's often, I don't know,

the feeling that doing something like that is self-indulgent or even selfish. But actually,

1:06.5

this idea of reclaiming literally means to take back something that was previously yours that has been

1:12.4

lost or stolen. So your time is yours and it's your choice. You get to choose how you spend it.

1:18.8

So yeah, I wanted to kind of encourage people, especially right now with everything that's going on

1:23.5

in the world. I know that many people that I speak to right now, we're all feeling, I guess,

1:29.3

this pressure, this stress, you know, from all different aspects of our lives. And for many

1:34.2

parents right now with the school holidays, you know, kids have been at home for so long. And it can

1:39.4

be, yeah, difficult to take that time, to take an hour of your day, to dedicate to yourself. But I really want to

1:45.5

encourage you to do so. You know, we've all heard the air hostess talking about put your own

1:50.7

oxygen mask on before you help others. And it makes complete sense that you're in a better position

1:56.0

to help others when you've already taken care of yourself. You cannot give what you don't have. So if you

2:02.0

want to show up for the people in your life, you want to give them your best energy, you want to do
