Hey everyone, it's Adrienne here and this week's voice note is all about identity.

0:09.0

Who are you really? So the idea of identity and the labels that we have, labels that are given to us by other people at different stages in our lives, often inform who we are, who we think that we are

0:22.8

and who that we say we are to the world. So, for example, some labels that I have on me might be

0:28.7

mother, sister, podcast host, runner, other labels that you might have leader, teacher, student,

0:39.8

coach, whatever it is. Those labels are sometimes given to us and maybe it's not a label that you chose or that you want because

0:46.6

what you allow will continue. So my challenge for you this week would be to think about who are you

0:53.3

really without those labels. If you strip some of those things back about who are you really without those labels. If you strip some of

0:55.5

those things back, who are you really and what do you choose? Because we're all multifaceted. We can be

1:01.7

more than one thing. You can be a sister and a wife and a teacher and a nurse. All of those things

1:07.9

can coexist. But sometimes the labels that other people give us

1:11.8

don't serve us. Sometimes we outgrow that stage in our life and we're not that person anymore.

1:17.6

So that's what I've been thinking about this week. I've been thinking about, you know, what other

1:21.8

people's perhaps labels and expectations of me are and which ones are true and which ones aren't true. So you decide

1:30.6

which labels are yours. And also maybe think about a label that you want to have. So for example,

1:36.6

an action or a behaviour, something you want to embody could be being punctual, being disciplined.

1:43.1

So give yourself that title.

1:44.8

I am someone who is punctual.

1:46.8

I am someone who is hardworking.

1:48.9

I am someone who is confident.

1:51.5

You know, give yourself a new label this week.

1:53.6

So that's what I've been thinking about.

1:55.1

That's what I wanted to share.
