This is a talk I gave to a women's confraternity in my city regarding leading children in mental prayer. (But it's probably the best guide I've done for adults on Gospel Meditations.)

Okay, let's begin in prayer in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Most of you probably know today is a first Saturday, and there's a few things involved

included in the Fatima devotion.

One is reception of Holy Communion and confession within either

eight days prior or after. Secondly, is you pray five decades of the rosary. And thirdly,

you spend 15 minutes in meditation on the mysteries of the rosary. So isn't that interesting

that Fatima includes mental prayer? I don't think most people remember that.

We always think of the fasting, the sacrifice, the rosary, but Fatima actually includes mental prayer.

Now there's a little bit of a debate out there because when you hear, meditate for 15 minutes on the mysteries of the rosary. Some people think that means all 15 decades and 15 minutes on one of the on the mysteries of the rosary some people think that means

all 15 decades and 15 minutes but that wouldn't really be meditation would it because it'd be

one minute for every mystery so that's not really meditation so I'm going to read you something

here from a priest named father duly he wrote a little book called Rosary Meditations for Fatima
