This is VLX number 81. Behold His Mother. We are in Matthew chapter 12, verses 46 through 50.

God give you his peace, and Omipachi, Sifiri, Spiriti, amen.

God, our Lord, we ask the grace that all of our intentions, actions, and operations be directed purely to the service and praise of your divine majesty.

And Omipachi Sifidi, Sipid, Siti, amen.

While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside asking to speak to him,

but he replied to the man who told him,

Who is my mother and who are my brothers?

And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said,

Here are my mother and my brothers,

for whoever does the will of my father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.

Thus are the words of the Holy Gospel.

So today, let's start with the imaginative way of prayer, but we will look at the Greek to do that.

The gospel says today, while he was still speaking to the people, behold his mother and

his brothers stood outside asking to speak to him.

Now we're going to prove a little bit later that these were Jesus' cousins, not his blood

brothers.

So I'm going to have you picture yourself as one of Jesus' cousins standing outside this home.

Now you can see all these people are in the home and you and Mary

really want to talk to Jesus. Now notice that the ESV that I read at the beginning of all these

sections, the ESV has the verb to ask in there. Mary and the cousins ask to speak to Jesus,

but that's not strong enough. The Dewey Rhymes Bible is a lot better in the
