Hello and welcome to How to Take Over the World. This is Ben Wilson. Today's episode is about

Vladimir Putin. This is a re-release of an episode I put out more than three years ago. And for

future reference, I'm releasing this in May of 2022. Vladimir Putin is currently the president of Russia,

and his country is in the middle

of an invasion of Ukraine. And so that's why this is being re-released. I wanted to update it with a

little bit more context, fill in a few holes here and there, and then also take the narrative

forward a little bit to bring us to the current day to give my thoughts a little bit, which I will

do at the end on the current

situation and how Putin's background plays into it. Part of my reason for wanting to

record was inspired by a friend that I was talking to who was talking about the war in Ukraine.

And he said, you know, I can't believe that this entire war, that is horrible situation,

is being caused because one person, Putin has just gone completely insane and I said do you think that's really what's

happening here do you think that this war is happening because Putin is just off his rocker and he said

no I mean I guess not I guess I know it's more complicated than that.

And I said, well, why'd you say that? And he said, I don't know. It's just kind of what people say.

And it reminds me a little bit of September 11th, 2001. And after the terrorist attacks on Twin Towers,

of course, everyone was opposed to Al-Qaeda. Everyone was mad.

And George W. Bush delivered an address and he said that they hate us because we're free.
