Good morning and welcome one and all to my Monday mid-morning show right here on Talk TV.

I'm standing in for my excellent friend and colleague Mike Graham,

who has entrusted me with his independent republic while he takes a well-deserved break.

It's in safe hands, I think. After an astonishing

weekend of fast-breaking international news, the fallout from the Russian military mutiny continues

apace as Putin talks tough but looks weak and the world holds its breath, waiting for his reaction.

That Wagner group leader, Yegevni Progoshenin and his mercenary troops marched almost unopposed to within 100 miles of Moscow,

was an extraordinary exposure of Putin's diminishing power.

The last-minute deal that sent Progogian and his men into

exile in Belarus only served to underline the panic Putin revealed in his nervous, faltering

speech to the people as machine posts, machine gun posts were mounted around the Russian capital on Saturday.

Quite what a threat, Progogian still poses to Putin remains to be seen, but by common

consent, the former thief, jailbird and hot dog seller should be careful what he eats

unless he's fond of poison.

I'll keep you posted as this tense situation unfolds,

especially in terms of its effect on the Ukraine war and after US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken
