I'm a dinosaur in medicine, and so all these technologies, technologies are sometimes,

you know, they still manage to put a little fear in me, you know. I feel much more comfortable

talking about what I do that getting my message out there. That's what I want to ask you actually.

I want to get started though first by you telling us a little bit about your journey in medicine,

and you know, just the whole, I guess, journey and adventure of becoming a dermatologist.

So I'm one of these people that I've always loved art, and I've always loved detective,

being a detective, very visually oriented. I originally thought I was, I was like the little

girl that had a Barbie doll with her dream house, but I also had a chemistry set. Oh my gosh,

me too. This was like, I was, you know, there was always this duality, and I think I originally

wanted to be an architect, and then once I figured out that there wasn't that much autonomy in it,

and it wasn't just about letting your creative energies flow, you know, unrestricted that I thought,

I read the fountain hand, and I said, oh, no, I'm not going to be an architect. And the chemistry

got the best of me, and I thought I was going to become a chemist, but I love people and science

and biology, and so medicine was like a perfect fit. I originally wanted to be a reconstructive

plastic surgeon, and you know, treat children with cleft lip, cleft palate, that type of thing,
