monthly Sound Transit Board meeting at Union Station. The goal is to put pressure on the agency

to build the 4th Avenue Transit hub. The plan received broad support

from transit advocates, but is facing pushback from people who want to preserve the CID. Voters

approved new transit centers in a 2016 sound transit ballot measure. Education advocates are launching a

campaign this morning to fight against the attempted repeal of the

state's capital gains tax. Initiative 2109 is one of the measures put on the ballot by

Republican activist Brian Haywood. The money raised from the tax helps fund education and child care.

The tax is projected to bring in $5 billion over the next six years, according to the State Department of Revenue.
