As ISIS drove across the Nineveh plains, many Iraqi Christians fled to surrounding countries as refugees. More than five years later, many are still waiting for a new beginning in another country. They are unable to work and their children can't attend school. But the church is welcoming them—both Muslim and Christian refugees. VOM continues to partner with churches to help meet Christian refugees' needs and encourage them in this discouraging season. Learn how you can pray for them and for the church in the Middle East.

1:00.6	Welcome again to the Voice of the Martyrs Radio. My name is Todd Netletons and we are in the studio today in Bartlesville, Oklahoma
1:07.6	with quite a collection of folks where this is going to be a little bit different show if you have listened for a long period of time.
1:15.6	Today we're going to kind of trade roles. I am here in the studio along with my wife, Shar.
1:21.6	My much better half. So I'm pleased to have her here. And we had the opportunities to travel recently to the Middle East and interview persecuted Christians.
1:31.6	I hear their stories here about what their lives are like and also hear what God is doing in that part of the world.
1:37.6	Some really remarkable things that he is doing. And so we wanted to share that trip with you. However, obviously it would be awkward to ask ourselves questions.
1:47.6	So I have asked my coworker Kim to come in the studio and kind of host this interview. So she's going to be our host this week.
1:55.6	Shar and I are going to be the guests. And that's the plan. Obviously a little different than normal. So we hope you will join us as we kind of talk about the Middle East and I'll turn it over to my coworker Kim.
2:08.6	Thanks Todd. It's great to be here with you and to get to turn the tables on you and ask the questions.
2:13.6	So you traveled with your wife, Shar. So how did that come about? Why Shar? Why did she get to come with you on this particular trip? And Shar, you can jump in here if you want.
2:23.6	The Lord opened the door for her to be able to go. And so her boss let her have time off her job so she could go and do this. And you know, we always cherish the opportunity to travel together.
2:34.6	We both enjoy travel. Just enjoy it for the sake of travel. But then to be able to minister alongside of each other and really share in these experiences.
2:45.6	I think, you know, for 23, almost 24 years, I've gone on these trips and then come back and tell the stories to her. So to have her there to hear the stories firsthand, I think is a great opportunity and great privilege.
