Hello again, fiends and welcome to Nightmare on Film Street. I'm John.

I'm Kim. This week we need a virgin.

Which is to say that we are talking about Monster Squad and Hocus Pocus. I hope that made sense.

We had a really hard time pairing movies for this week.

We wanted to do something a little timely to coincide with the tail end of our Overlook Film Festival coverage.

We recently watched the Monster Squad, which John has been working for at least a year to try to get the movie

on the podcast, and I have been holding out because having never seen

the film previously I didn't know what to pair it with and so I was trying to suggest movies

and I was like no it's not right it like, no it's not right, it's not right.

And I wanted to do something that was horrory. I was suggesting the It 1990 mini-series.

I think I also suggested standby me at one point.

I mean these are both very good suggestions.

I think I even was like, let's do ghostbusters.

Also good.

That was in the running for a long time.

I just, I knew that we needed to have a good match with Monster Squad and I didn't want to fuck it up because like this is the one time we're going to get to talk about it.

I love this goddamn movie and it was such a delight to show it to you for the first time.
