CNN can project that the redistricting effort in Virginia has prevailed.

That means the vote yes side, which largely will give Democrats up to four more seats

in the House of Representatives has defeated the vote a no side.

The FBI this morning raiding the office of State Senator Louise Lucas.

She's one of the highest ranking Democrats in the Virginia State Senate.

Longtime Democratic Congressman Bobby Scott said on Twitter, her ex-quote,

it should be noted that this is occurring just two weeks after Senator Lucas helped lead the successful effort by Virginia voters to reject President Trump's attempt to rig the midterm elections.

Let's dive it.

Two major developments occurred back to back earlier this month.

First, the FBI raid on the office of Louise Lucas, who is a leading Democrat in the Virginia State Senate, a body for which she is the president pro tempore, and a court's decision to overturn

a redistricting referendum.

That would be the Virginia Supreme State Court overturning the will of the people to redraw the

electoral maps. Now, these may look like unrelated issues, but they aren't. When federal agents

raided Lucas's office, it was because she spearheaded the state's voter approved redistricting

referendum. And then the Virginia Supreme Court in a four to three decision handed Republicans

a major advantage heading into the 2026 midterms by deciding that that voter approved referendum

was unconstitutional,

at least according to Virginia's constitution.

We can't let anybody tell us that these events are unrelated.
