Both Democrats and Republicans continue to show that they are out of touch with the

middle of the electorate.

Democrats argue that the way to meet voters is to scare them about Trump, even though Joe

Biden took the White House by winning center-right voters and independents.

Republicans meanwhile think the winning message is to scare people about socialism.

And Republicans are making inroads with their message a new CBS poll this week.

Found that most people know the cost of the spending bill, but they don't know what's

in the spending bill, only a third think it'll help their family directly.

That's a problem back home for many of these members, like Budget Committee Chairman John

Yarmeth.

He announced Tuesday's retiring.

You know, he wants to say don't look much into it, but when a committee chair retires,

that is something that can spark nervousness.

So does that mean a bunch of other Democrats could start thinking about retirement pretty

soon?

sort of push back on my thesis that says neither, neither party knows how to woo the middle

of the electorate without scaring them.
