I want to talk about healthcare worker violence. It's been a big part of our movement, this hashtag Silent No More campaign,

this idea that we have been quiet about this epidemic that's been growing regarding violence against healthcare practitioners.

Now, we've talked about it so much, I feel like anything else we say is redundant, except what I'm going to say now and what Tom is going to talk about with me,

which is what are the root causes of this? We all know that it's not acceptable to hit a healthcare person, a nurse, a doctor, a pharmacist.

It doesn't matter. You go home health, you fear for your life going into some of these houses. I've heard these stories.

I have gotten thousands of messages over the course of doing these shows from people who have been the victims of violence and live in fear,

which is you shouldn't be afraid to go to work, right? So what do I think are some of these root causes?

And Tom, having recently experienced the other side of this coin with his father in the hospital, what does he think?

And can we come to a way to actually make it better? Well, increasingly what we're seeing is, we didn't see as much of this violence in the old days.

And I think there are several factors that go into this. First of all, there's a general erosion of the sacredness of the relationship in healthcare.
