I don't think he's that kind of guy that has to have something like that.

I mean, I don't think there's the two kinds of ways of dealing with that sort of thing.

There's the way where somebody listens to all of it and writes it all down and keeps track of it and tries to show all the haters that they're wrong, which is fine.

That's sort of like the Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan.

You're always paying attention

to what the haters are saying. And if they're not saying anything, then you make up something.

That's one way to do it. I think Kevin Garnett has talked about that before where he would just

kind of make up something in his own mind to be mad at the other team. And Jordan did that.

But I don't think McCarthy really comes across that way.

He comes across as somebody who is just closing himself off to the world.
