Welcome to slow more. My guest today is someone I just met literally a week ago. I was being

interviewed by him on his passion project, not so much just a passion.

As a matter of fact, a very successful long-form blog if you want called Thought Economics.

Vickers Shah is an entrepreneur, he's an investor, he's a philanthropist.

He is a CEO of Swiss Scott Group which focuses on the textile business. He is a non-executive board member of the UK

government's department of business, energy and industrial strategy. He's a

non-executive director of the regulation authority.

Vickers was awarded an MBE for his services to business and to the economy by Her

Majesty the Queen in 2018 and he is an honorary

professor of business teaching as a visiting professor at the Alliance Business School, University of Manchester and

MIT Sloan-Lisbon.

Vickers is also the chair of In Place of War, which is a global NGO that uses arts and entrepreneurship

to foster change in over 32 places impacted by the conflict of war and is deeply involved in poverty alleviation in the UK.

An amazing person in every possible way, He started his first business when he was 14 and in an unusual way when we started to have our conversation last time I realized I had a lot to learn from Vickers.

I asked him to come and join me on Slo Mo.

And this actually is our introduction as new friends.
