International Monetary Fund boss, Kristolina Giorgaiva, had a pretty busy week.

Ahead of the annual meeting of the World Bank and the multilateral lender she leads in Washington,

Jorgiva's job was under fire.

At issue is whether when she worked at the World Bank in 2017,

she pressured staff to alter data to favor China's status in the annual Doing Business Report.

In the end, she managed to ride out data rigging charges, but now she's got a lot to prove.

I talked to our global economics editor Swaha Patnick to hear how Georgia can remake her legacy and

reform the institution itself.

After that, Peter Thal Larson and Amy Donnellin discussed developments at both ends of European

retailing.

In France, supermarket chain Carfour is facing a shrinking pool of potential merger partners

after rejecting a possible tie-up with domestic rival O'Shawn,

and after a previous approach from Canada's Couchard was nixed by Emmanuel Macron's government.

They also chew over the spectacular stock market collapse of one-time British e-commerce star, THG.
