threads in this edition. The coronavirus, the recent Fed rate cuts, and just for good measure,

we're going to throw on the results of the latest contest of

the Democratic primary, known as Super Tuesday.

But later in the program, we're going to toss the mic to our Asia-based friends, Katrina

Hamlin and Jeff Goldfarb, who are going to take you through viral mat clauses in China.

So on that note, let's start with the coronavirus.

Last week, the S&P 500 index had its

biggest drop since 2008, and that was on fears that the latest global outbreak is going to only

get worse. Yesterday, the U.S. Federal Reserve made a surprise rate cut. Anna, what was so unusual

about that? So the rate cut was 50 basis points, and it was also not at a meeting.

It was in between meetings.

So in the last time we've seen a 50 basis point cut in between meetings was around the financial

crisis.

Again, another marker for the financial crisis.
