breakups, carve-outs, and spinoffs. Some welcome, some not so much. In the latter camp, there's

Jack Ma's financial tech giant aunt. Beijing wants the company to separate its payments,

credit scoring, and lending businesses, and it's diluting them with assorted government investors.

But as Robin Mack tells Pete Sweeney in Hong Kong, these new stakeholders might be friendly,

and the loan operation itself might even get a wider business remit as a result of this whole

fake-up. So there may be some silver linings of this latest edict of the Chinese Communist Party.
