BP, the British Oil Major, is pledging to go net zero. So is Delta Airlines, the largest

U.S. air carrier by market value. And they're not alone. They're just two of the most

recent companies to adopt the term. And what they're talking about is their intention to reduce

to nothing, one way or another, their carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions. Now, it's hardly

a quick process. Some firms like Delta are targeting 10 years, others 20, 30 or even longer. But is

that realistic?

Do the companies making these promises have the right plans in place?

And who's in charge of it all?

Joining me from across the pond in London to dig into these climate change goals is George Hay.

So let's start with BP, since that came first. BP last week said basically we're going to go net zero carbon emissions at a certain period of time. We've seen others do this. Shell's been talking about it. Repsulcate was really the first come out with a big net zero target, I think of the big oil majors in Europe. We've always been pretty skeptical, right? We look back over the past few years of our coverage. It's been, look, it's good to have shareholders, for example, go after companies for more information and get them to give a bit more detail about where their risks might lie. But with at least finally starting to see companies say, we're now going to do something. But the question that something george enough and can we quantify it and can we and do we think it's going to get us
