First President Biden is doing Wayne County Michigan near Detroit today to join with

Picketing United Auto Workers Union members.

Democrats could once count on strong support from the UAW, given the long tradition of the

Republican Party supporting business.

But tomorrow Donald Trump makes his visit to Michigan to deliver a speech to current

and former UAW members who prefer the Trump approach to some issues, including immigration.

Joining us from Ann Arbor this morning is Eric Gordon, a professor at the University

of Michigan's Ross School of Business.

I asked him how this might go for the President.

Feelings out here are mixed.

I rubbed elbows with some auto workers and some of them are very excited that the President

of the United States might walk the picket line, they might get a photo op with them.

Here's a little more skeptical, even if his heart's in it, they're going to be some

doubters.

And then a visit from presidential hopeful Donald Trump the very next day.

Tomorrow also likely to get mixed reactions from auto workers.

Yeah, that'll be exciting because there are some auto workers who very much support

Mr. Trump and there are some auto workers who are adamantly against him.

Says a lot, right, given the fact that the Democratic Party has been seen as the traditional

supporter of the labor movement.
