Let's continue in our study of the very last chapter of the American Covenant,

The Untold Story.

And as we go through this material, it may be appropriate to have a quick word of clarification of something I said last night.

You know, we've talked about this nation being a nation that was really founded on the principles

of God's word. This is a Judeo-Christian nation. And the very structure of our government comes

out of the Bible.

And that has been the secret sauce combined with the animating power of the faith of our forefathers.

And what's important to understand here is that when we call this a Christian nation, in no way did our founding fathers

envision, okay, this is important, some kind of a legalistic theocracy, again, where the church

and the government are married tightly together and they somehow wield power in one another's interest and then

ultimately forced that on the people. That was not their idea at all when they call this a

Christian nation. This was not about forcing Christianity and Judeo-Christian values on others.

What what it meant was a simple returning to the the simple principles of the founding fathers.

And those principles can be found in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

And that's why it's so important that we read those.

Sometimes we get a quick class on that in fifth grade,

and then we never pick up the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution again,

and so we don't understand what it says and understand how important it is.
