This week we have an interview with Bob Backish.

He is the CEO of Viacom CBS. It's part of a conversation we had as part of our Code Media at Home series. Backish has a full plate. He's still merging Viacom and CBS, which formerly merged a year ago after a lot of years of will, they, won't they? And so that's an ongoing process. He's selling Simon & Schuster, the publisher,

right now as I record this. But we focus primarily on his streaming plans because that's maybe

sort of kind of the future of Viacom's CBS, as long as it's a standalone company. So there's a lot

here about Paramount Plus. That's the paid service. They're going to launch slash relaunch next year,

as well as Pluto TV, their free streaming service. Like I said, we recorded this for our live coded home series, so it's going to sound a little different than the podcast sound you're used to hearing on this podcast. But it gets the job done.
