On combat story, we ask each veteran the same question, would you do it all again?

0:05.4

The pain, the sacrifice, the loss, and here's what they had to say.

0:10.2

Yes, that was what I was destined to do, and I think that's why I was a good young fighter,

0:16.3

I was like that what I find. Not many people get, I think, the opportunity to truly do what

0:22.8

they were meant to do. Yeah, like if I had the opportunity to go back, there's no way I could turn that

0:28.0

down. One hundred percent, I wouldn't change anything because I firmly believe that the lessons that I

0:34.0

learned in 2010 in Rusegaon Province, the lessons I learned there in blood almost dying, I was able

0:41.6

to pass those onto guys that I do believe have saved some lives. One hundred percent. I would

0:49.2

do it all all again and even even the things that I regretted in the moment, I think I would do

0:57.3

the same way. Even if I knew everything, even if I knew I would have to walk in the same exact

1:06.4

path and the same exact footsteps, I would definitely do it again. Yeah, I would go back as it's

1:12.4

just, you know, as hard as some of it is, it was such a good thing to be part of and the teams and

1:19.6

the people on that you really do say the best in humans, you say the worst as well, but you really

1:24.6

do say the best in people, so it's such a great experience. I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

1:30.4

Yeah, everything that has happened to me, every choice that I've made, or the choice that I haven't

1:34.8

made, is a part of who I am today. That wouldn't change a thing because they led me to where I am,

1:42.1

who I am, and who I'm with today. 100 percent, 100 percent, and when I did it all again,

1:49.8

I'd work even harder to lose less people. You know, like we all, all seals worked really hard

1:56.3

to some degree. You know, a lot of the things that happened were just a, sometimes just a function of,

2:02.0

you know, the sheer number of operations and things that all my teammates went on, like we're

2:06.4

lucky that it wasn't, you know, 10 or a thousand times worse than it was, but I think you will

2:12.8

be hard pressed to find a single service person who says that it wasn't worth it when they wouldn't
